Spirit and Sonship in Paul’s Portrayal of Baptism

Abstract: This paper explores Paul’s theology of baptism, arguing that Paul sees our baptism in light of Jesus’ baptism, which is a model for our own. As we participate in Jesus’ baptism through our own, we too experience the reality of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives and the declaration that we too are sons of God.
